As if the 2023 was yesterday Overwatch League offseason wasn’t chaotic enough already, the league’s most recent champions will all be at the bargaining table over the next few months.

Mike “Hastr0” Rufail, co-owner of OpTic and the Dallas Fuel, revealed today All members of the current Fuel roster are unrestricted, free agents during the offseason. This means that players are open to receiving offers from any team in the offseason. Overwatch OpTic might seize League and possibly even take it from them.

The co-owner explained A Twitter voice note stated that the organization decided to allow all players to pursue the offseason unrestricted as free agents. This included players who Dallas could have extended with team options. That option would have guaranteed the player at least another season on the team.

“While we, of course, would love to bring the team back to Dallas, we also recognize that because of the caliber of the team, the opportunities that they all might have individually could be greater,” Hastr0 said in the voice note.

The Fuel’s eight-player roster recently won The 2022 Overwatch League championship, which gives fans the most competitive Grand Finals series ever with a 4-3 win against the San Francisco Shock.

Before hardcore Dallas fans start sobbing into their blue jerseys, this decision doesn’t mean that the team won’t stick together. You can receive offers from unrestricted free agents All Dallas Fuel is one of many teams that could propose the idea to stick together as the ultimate job advantage.

“We will attempt to put together the best roster again for 2023 and we hope that roster includes many of the players we have now,” Hastr0 said. “We’re not just abandoning the team, we’re going to attempt to re-sign some, if not all, of the team for next season and put together the best Dallas Fuel roster we can.”
